Alpha is a series of interactive sessions exploring the basics of the Christian faith. Each session looks at a different question and is designed to create conversation. There’s no pressure, no follow-up, and no charge; it’s just an open, informal, and honest space to explore and discuss life’s big questions together.
First: A Meal
Food is a key element of the Alpha Course. It is during the meal that friendships are formed and groups gel together. Here's a typical Alpha evening: 7.00 pm Dinner 7.35 pm Welcome 7.45 pm Video Talk 8.45 pm Discussions 9.30 pm Home
Second: Video Talk
The Alpha Course has 10 full-length 45-minute talks. One talk at each session. These talks address some of the core values of the Christian Faith; topics like Who is Jesus, What is Prayer, Does God heal today and Who is the Holy Spirit. These talks you understand why they matter, and specifically why they matter to you, for your life.
The discussion is instrumental in Alpha. The group host helps to engage the conversation by encourage the various perspectives of the participants and questions within the group. The more curious and inquistive the group, the more likely you are to tackle tough subjects about everyday life and the Christian faith.
